British Kempo Society

Welcome to the British Kempo Society!

The BKS is simply a group of small, independent, like-minded clubs, who have found that they have become somewhat restricted with what they can provide their students. All the instructors are of a “unpaid” nature – certainly can not consider using the words “amateur” or “non-professional” to describe them, as they are very experienced and professional in their approach to Martial Arts.

Aims:The BKS intends to assist these clubs by providing:

  • recognition of their Dan grades (upon assessment from panel)
  • a large panel of other, like minded, Dan grades to assist with the assessment of higher-grade students – to own club syllabus.
  • a large skill base to help with seminars/courses
  • a place for the instructors to progress their own skill base, by learning from the other BKS instructors.
  • a place to train whilst away from your usual club

We intend to provide the support a small club needs, without interfering with syllabus or any other club practice. We also intend to meet on a regular basis, to share ideas and techniques.
